Winter is coming! Nein, der Winter ist bereits da und die Frage “Was ziehe ich an?” wird nicht einfacher bei Minusgraden und vereisten Straßen. Aber keine Sorge, wenn du die Grundbausteine im Kleiderschrank hast, meisterst du stylemäßig jeden klirrend kalten Tag! Winter-Must-haves sind zeitlose Teile, unabhängig von Trends, die du jedes Jahr wieder tragen kannst – und willst. Daher lohnt es sich, etwas mehr in sie zu investieren und dafür Qualität zu bekommen, die für auch die kommenden Winter über hält.
Gut aussehen wollen wir natürlich auch bei eisigem Wetter. Diese 10 Winter Essentials brauchst du für elegant-feminine Outfits, die dich schön warm halten:
1. Eine (Basken-)Mütze
Im Winter sorgt die Kopfbedeckung nicht nur für warme Öhrchen, sondern dient auch als sprichwörtliches Tüpfelchen auf dem I – in dem Fall deinem Outfit. Die klassische Baskenmütze schlägt in Sachen Eleganz einfach nichts! Als hochwertiges Modell aus 100 Prozent Wolle hält sich dich schön warm.
2. Ein Schal
Der große Bruder der Mütze schützt vor Kälte am Hals und ist mit traditionellem Karomuster ein Teil, das jede Frau im Schrank haben sollte. Zu einem eleganten Look gehört für mich ein feiner Schal statt Strickbergen. Damit er sein Ziel zu wärmen erfüllt, wähle einen Schal aus 100 Prozent Kaschmir – ich verspreche dir, diese Investition lohnt sich, denn er ist auch kuschelweich!
3. Ein Paar Fingerhandschuhe
Mit den Handschuhen wird die Accessoires-Dreieinigkeit für den Winter komplett. Grazile Fingerhandschuhe sind die beste Wahl, Fäustlinge sind nun wirklich nur was fürs Skifahren. Ob aus Strick, Kaschmir oder Leder, Handschuhe bringen immer einen Hauch Vintage mit und werten so jedes Winter-Outfit auf. Und halten deine Finger warm, natürlich.
4. (Leder-)Leggings
Wenn ich an einem klirrend kalten Wintermorgen aufwache, möchte ich am liebsten im Bett bleiben. Die Lösung: Mein Outfit so bequem und kuschelig wie mein Bett gestalten, nur selbstverständlich tausendmal stylisher. Daher triffst du mich in der kalten Jahreszeit sicher oft in gemütlichem Pullover und Leggings. Ist zwar ein simpler und bequemer Look, kann aber durchaus schick aussehen! Bei der Hose achte ich darauf, dass sie ein paar Details hat wie etwa ein Kunstleder-Finish, Knöpfe oder Ziernähte.
5. Ein Pullover
Offensichtlich, aber eine Erwähnung wert: der gute alte Strickpulli. Für steigenden Komfortfaktor am besten aus Wolle, Alpaka oder Kaschmir! Trotzdem sollte es kein schlabbernder Gammelpulli sein, sondern ein gutes geschnittenes Kleidungsstück mit strukturierten Schultern und Ärmeln und einer ausreichenden Länge. Mit Rollkragen wird dein Lieblingspullover noch gemütlicher. Siehe dazu auch Punkt 10!
6. Eine Wolljacke
Eleganz zum Drüberziehen: Ein taillierter Mantel oder eine Jacke aus Wolle, mit Gürtel, Knöpfen oder einem Fellkragen werten dein komplettes Outfit auf. Die Investition lohnt sich dafür allemal, schließlich ist deine Jacke oft das Erste oder sogar Einzige, das andere von deinem Outfit sehen. Kriterien für einen gut gearbeiteten Wollmantel sind ein ordentliches Futter, Taschen sowie einen mühelos gleitenden Reißverschluss oder sicher angenähte Knöpfe mit ausreichend großen Knopflöchern. Für extra Style-Punkte schaue dich nach ungewöhnlichen Formen wie Capes, bodenlangen Mänteln oder Jacken mit Faux Fur-Besatz um.
7. Ein Paar Ohrringe
Schmuck gehört zu jedem gelungenen Outfit, unser Problem im Winter ist nur, dass man ihn nicht sieht. Bist du gut eingemummelt, verschwinden Kette, Armbänder und Ringe unter wärmenden Lagen. Deshalb sind ein Paar Hingucker-Ohrringe in der kalten Jahreszeit deine Chance, deinem Look etwas Glamour zu verleihen. Mein Favorit: Perlen!
8. Ein Paar Overknee-Stiefel
Feminin par excellence! Ich finde, es gibt für Herbst/Winter keinen weiblicheren Look als einen kurzen Rock mit Overknee-Boots. Gleichzeitig sind die hohen Stiefel sehr wandelbar und passen ebenso zu Hosen.. Außerdem halten sie einfach wunderbar warm, besonders wenn du zusätzlich Strümpfe darunter trägst. Mein Tipp: strukturierte Socken, an denen der Stiefelschaft nicht herunterrutschen kann! Außerdem empfehle ich, Stiefel mit mittelhohem Absatz und Profil auf der Sohle zu wählen, um auch bei Schnee und Matsch nicht ins Stolpern zu kommen.
9. Eine Statement-Tasche
Da wie geschrieben bei kaltem Wetter vieles von meinem Look unter meinem Mantel nicht sehen ist, setze ich dort Akzente, wo es geht. Eine auffällige oder besonders schicke Tasche bildet den perfekten Blickfang! Du kannst zum Beispiel eine Kontrastfarbe zu deinem Outfit wählen, eine Tasche mit Applikationen wie etwa Kunstfell, oder eine Designer- oder Designer-inspirierte Tasche, die Fashionistas sofort wiedererkennen. Auch sollte sie einigermaßen geräumig sein, damit du bei Bedarf Handschuhe oder Mütze hineinpacken kannst.
10. Ein Thermo-Top
Niemand wird wissen, wie es unter deinem schicken Outfit aussieht! Also lautet die Mission: so warm halten wie möglich! Ich layere unter meine Pullis im Winter meistens ein langärmliges Thermo-Top, das ähnlich wie Skiunterwäsche die Temperatur reguliert und dafür sorgt, dass du dein eigentliches Oberteil aus edlen Materialien (siehe Punkt 5) nicht so oft waschen musst. Übrigens: Das Thermo-Longsleeve ist auch nützlich, falls du kratzige Wollpullover nicht gerne direkt auf der Haut trägst.

Winter is coming! No, winter is already here and we have to dress the part. Which isn’t the easiest when the temperatures drop below zero and all we want to do is stay home for the annual Harry Potter marathon and a cup of hot chocolate. But don’t worry, if your wardrobe contains all the necessary staples, you will master any icy cold day stylewise! Winter staples are timeless items that aren’t tied to any trends and that you can – and want to! – wear again year after year. This is why it is worth investing in them, getting high quality that will endure the winters to come.
Of course we want to look even in frosty weather. These 10 winter essentials will help you create elegant and feminine outfits that will keep you nice and toasty as well:
1. A beret
In winter a hat will not only keep your ear warm but also serves as the cherry on the cake – which is your outfit, figuratively speaking. Nothing beats a classic beret when it comes to elegance! Pick a high quality one made of 100 percent wool to protect your head from the cold.
2. A scarf
The hat’s bigger brother will make sure you don’t get cold around your neck and is an item everyone should have in their wardrobes, because it can give an outfit that little extra something. For an elegant look, I prefer a fine scarf, maybe with a check pattern, over a chunky knitted one. However, you still want to keep warm, that’s why I recommend choosing a scarf made of 100 percent cashmere, which does the job plus is soooo soft for the skin on your neck and face!
3. A pair of gloves
Complete the winter accessories trinity with a pair of delicate gloves, leaving mittens for wearing when you’re dashing down the slopes. Whether you decide to go for wool, cashmere, or leather, gloves elevate any winter look by injecting a little vintage element into it. And they keep your fingers warm, of course.
4. A pair of (leather) leggings
When I wake up on a freezing cold winter morning, the one thing I want to do most is stay in bed. I trick myself into seizing the day though by putting together an outfit that is nearly as comfortable and cosy as my bed, while stylish at the same time. That is why during the cold months, you will often find me in a chunky knit and leggings. I do admit that this is a really simple look, however, it is easy to dress it up. Starting with the leggings, I make sure it features some chic details like a faux leather finish, gold buttons, or decorative stitching.
5. A knit jumper
This one is obvious, but worth mentioning: the good old knitted jumper. To increase the cosiness factor, choose one made of wool, alpaca or cashmere. Nevertheless, your jumper of choice should not be a shapeless sack-like one, but a well proportioned garment with structured instead of hanging shoulders, fitted sleeves, and a reasonable length. If you want extra warmth, opt for a roll neck – and read number 10!
6. A wool jacket
Elegance that became outerwear: a fitted coat or jacket made of wool, with a waist belt, buttons, or a faux fur collar, will elevate your whole outfit. If you choose to get one item from this list, make it the wool jacket, because when you are out and about in cold weather, your outerwear may be the first or even only thing people see from your look! Criteria for a high quality wool coat are a well-made lining, pockets, and a smooth zipper or buttons that are sewn on tightly and button holes with a reasonable size. Looking to earn extra style points? Go for a more unusual form of outerwear like a cape, choose an eye-catching floor-length coat, or go full glam with a jacket featuring faux fur piping.
7. A pair of earrings
Jewelry is essential to complete every outfit, however, the problem in winter is that most of it is not invisible! When you are all bundled up, all these toasty layers will cover necklaces, bracelets and rings. My solution is to rely on a pair of statement earrings to add that pinch of glitter and glam to your look in winter. Pearl earrings are my personal favourite!
8. A pair of over the knee boots
Feminity par excellence! I think one of the most feminine looks for autumn/winter is a mini skirt paired with over the knee boots, but of course they are incredibly versatile and look good with trousers as well. And they keep your legs amazingly warm, especially if you wear thick socks underneath. My tip is to get a pair of structured, e. g. cable knit, socks to prevent the bootleg from sliding down your calf. To be safe in the snow and on frozen ground, make sure your boots have a rather low block heel and a good profile on the sole.
9. A statement bag
As the majority of your outfit does not see the light of day in winter – when you are outside at least – I want to showcase the items that are visible. Make your handbag the talking piece in your look by choosing a contrasting colour to the rest of your OOTD, an embellished bag or one in an unusual material like faux fur, or a designer or designer inspired bag that true fashionistas will recognize anywhere! Your winter bag should also be rather spacious to fit your gloves and hat for when you don’t need them.
10. A thermal top
Nobody knows what your outfit’s base layer looks like, so make use of that and go for warmth instead of style. I like to wear a long-sleeved thermal underneath my jumpers in winter which will help regulate the temperature, keeping me warm when I’m outside and preventing overheating once I’m inside. Plus you don’t have to wash your high-quality jumper (see number 5) as often and an additional layer can help if you cannot stand wool or other possibly itchy materials directly on your skin.
