All The Real Winter Basics You Need And Why

Winter for me used to be a dark time – and I mean that not only because of the weather and the sun setting so early, but also in terms of clothes. A typical winter outfit for me previously was black boots, black pants, a navy blue or burgundy sweater, and as a top layer, I would wear a black coat, black or grey scarf and grey hat. It was only some time ago that I realized that winter doesn’t have to be dark, and there’s quite an easy way to literally brighten up this season which has to do with your winter basics.

Just think about it: The parts of your winter outfit that most people will see are your hat, your scarf, your coat, your bag and your shoes, so those are the basics you really need, that you should invest in and that you should choose based on your personal style. Personally, I decided to step by step get some winter basics that will break my dark pattern. One of them is this faux shearling jacket, that I didn’t get in black on purpose, and that I absolutely love because it’s so warm and cosy. Secondly, the boots don’t quite fit the scheme as they’re black, but because they have those beautiful studs on them that make them more special than your average winter boots, I think we can let them count. Last but not least, my bag is another eyecatcher that I will wear with some more winter outfits to come to brighten them up a bit.
