Das Modejahr ist mit den Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Paris und Mailand in vollem Gange. Obwohl die Frühlingsschauen dieses Jahr bereits die Herbst/Winter-Mode für 2020/21 zeigen, kristallisieren sich gerade die aktuellen Trends für das Jahr 2020 heraus. Für einen guten Überblick habe ich die angesagten Styles in vier groben Kategorien zusammengefasst und verrate dir außerdem, welche Schuhe und Accessoires du beim Shoppen auf dem Zettel haben solltest. Die größte Frage bei Trends ist allerdings immer noch:
Ist das überhaupt tragbar?
Und wie jedes Jahr ist es das irgendwie, denn ganz sicher hast du schon ein paar der 2020er Trend Pieces im Schrank hängen. Welche das sind und wie du sie jetzt stylst, liest du hier:
Alles andere als vorbei: Retro-Styles
Die Mode vergangener Jahrzehnte steht weiterhin auf unserer Fashion-Agenda – allen voran natürlich die 90er! Hier geht es aber erst mal um die 30 Jahre davor, denn aus jedem Jahrzehnt ist 2020 ein Style-Element vertreten:
die wilden, bunten 60er und 70er Jahre-Prints, die an Omas Tapete erinnern,
die 70er Disco-Vibes mit extra breiten, farbigen Revers an Mänteln, Jacken und Blazern oder als spitzer Oversize-Kragen an Blusen und Hemden
und die 80er, die uns Denim von Kopf bis Fuß wieder bringen.
Vielleicht hast du noch das eine oder andere Jeans-Teil neben der klassischen Hose im Schrank, dann kannst du diesen Trend schon mal easy nachstylen!

Anzug um Anzug: förmliche Fashion
2020 ist das Jahr des Tailoring! Ob Blazer, strukturierte Hosen, klassische Dreiteiler mit Weste oder die neuen short suits mit Bermudas, dieses Jahr sind wir im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes gut angezogen. Die Business-Fashion kommt in – gerade im Frühling – pastelligen oder neutralen Tönen daher. Besonders ein mintiges Pistaziengrün hat es den Modeschöpfern für dieses Saison angetan. Wer es knalliger mag, greift zu Hot Pink, einem pulsierenden Fuchsia.
Dieser Trend macht aber vor den Anzügen nicht halt: Das weiße Hemd bzw. die weiße Bluse ist zwar ein echter Klassiker in der Mode, momentan kommt das Piece aber noch größer raus als sowieso schon, denn es wird zum Bestandteil von Lagenlooks mit Rollkragenpullis. Auf diesen Zug kannst du easy aufspringen, denn Rolli und weiße Bluse hat jeder im Schrank, oder?
Für mich auch zum Tailoring-Trend zählen außerdem Poloshirts, Utility-Vibes, die uns weiterhin erhalten bleiben, und Trench Coats, die teilweise destrukturiert, teilweise als Kleid getragen auf den Laufstegen gezeigt wurden.

Alles was geht
Hierunter habe ich alle Trendrichtungen gefasst, die etwas “over the top” sind. Vor allem bei Kleidern eskalieren die Designer 2020 so richtig: ausladende Röcke, bauschige Ärmel, Spitze, Volants, Applikationen und und und – gefühlt wird alles draufgeknallt, was geht, und das macht die Kleider in dieser Saison aus. Möglichst viel Volumen bieten auch die Stufenröcke, die auf mehreren Catwalks zu sehen waren. Federn – auch nicht gerade alltagstauglich – sind 2020 hoch im Kurs. Und wer sich gerade dachte: Moment, Volants und Rüschen hatten wir doch letztes Jahr bereits? Genau, dieser Trend bleibt uns glücklicherweise erhalten und so kannst du alle gerüschten Pieces in deinem Schrank ganz nach vorne hängen.
Das Kontrastprogramm bieten eng anliegende und bodenlange Häkelkleider, die teils auch als Tops im Netz-Look daherkommen.

90er Understatement-Look
Die 90er sind bereits seit einiger Zeit wieder ein riesiges Thema in der Mode und ich liebe es, die ganzen Kultfilme wie zum Beispiel “Eiskalte Engel”, “10 Dinge, die ich an dir hasse” oder “Clueless” anzusehen, um mich inspirieren zu lassen. Viele der Teile, die jetzt aus den 90ern wiederkommen, setzen darauf, die Figur zu unterstreichen oder zeigen mehr Haut:

Hot Pants
Bodies
Minikleider
Die größte Inspiration für diesen Trend ist natürlich Bottega Veneta, die sich im 90er Style rundum austoben. Es wird nicht lange dauern, bis die ikonischen Designs von der High Street aufgegriffen werden – wenn du also ein paar Bottega-Pieces im Blick hast, bekommst du sicher schöne Dupes bei Topshop und Co. Persönlich habe ich vor, genau das zu tun, weil ich mir unsicher bin, wie lange der Bottega-Hype anhalten wird.
Neben dem körperbetonten Stil dreht sich 2020 unter dem Motto “Barely there” alles um den typischen Understatement-Style, der vor 30 Jahren angesagt war. Bei Make-up, Haaren und Maniküre liegt ebenfalls die Natürlichkeit im Trend; Stichwort “no makeup makeup look” und gepflegte, aber nicht übertrieben zurechtgemachte Haare und Nägel. Für diesen Trend brauchst du also nicht viel und er ist damit wirklich einfach mitzumachen.
Die Mode hält sich mit neutralen, monochromen Farben, zarten Riechen an Tops und Schuhen und ohne große Design-Details zurück.

Muster und Farben – übrigens genauso wie Schuhe und Accessoires – sind in jeder Saison eine easy und günstige Möglichkeit, Trendcharakter in deine Looks zu bringen, ohne sich komplett neu einkleiden zu müssen. 2020 bringt uns Farb und Printtrends, die wir definitiv schon im Kleiderschrank hängen haben: All-White und Black-and-white Outfits wurden zum Beispiel von Valentino auf dem Laufsteg gezeigt und sind kinderleicht zu stylen sowie für jede Jahreszeit passend. Die klassischen Polka Dots sind ebenso ein Mode-Allrounder, der sich mühelos kombinieren lässt und vielleicht schon in deiner Garderobe zu finden ist.
Neon ist auch wieder da, falls du also noch ein fluoreszierendes Fashion Piece von der letzten Neon-Trendwelle hast, ist jetzt die Zeit da, es wieder hervorzukramen. Und last but not least ist ein Trendguide für 2020 nur komplett, wenn er den bereits legendären Auftritt von J.Lo auf dem Versace-Laufsteg erwähnt: In einem tropisch bedruckten, grünen Kleid mit raffiniertem Schnitt legte sie einen spektakulären Catwalk hin. Alles mit Palmen, Paradiesvögeln und exotischen Pflanzen darauf ist demnach dieses Jahr ziemlich angesagt!

Wer erinnert sich noch an die Sex and the City-Folge, in der Samantha die Fake Fendi Baguette Bag kauft? Genau dieser Taschenstil erlebt jetzt ein Revival! Zusammen mit goldenen Creolen, weißen Sneakern, Gliederketten und zarten Sandaletten lassen auch die Accessoires die Neunziger Jahre so richtig aufleben. Besonders die Schmuckstücke oder ein Paar schlichte weiße Sneaker hast du auch vielleicht schon zuhause.
Den größten Beitrag zum 90er Comeback leistet Bottega Veneta, deren weiche, formlose Taschen und viereckigen Schuhe super in sind. Und es muss ja nicht Bottega selbst sein; wie schon erwähnt gibt es auf der High Street mittlerweile schöne Alternativen für die Trend Pieces – besonders im Accessoires-Bereich!

The fashion year is in full swing with the big fashion weeks in New York, London, Paris, and Milan. Although the spring shows this year already reveal the autumn/winter fashion for 2020/21, the current trends for 2020 are emerging now. For a thorough overview, I have summarized the trendy styles in four rough categories and also listing which shoes and accessories you might want to have on your shopping list. However, the biggest question with trends always is:
Are they even wearable?
And every year they are somehow – this time because you will most likely already have some of the 2020 trend pieces in your closet. Find out which ones and how you can style them:
Anything but over: Retro Styles
The fashion of past decades is still on our agenda – above all clearly the 90s! But to begin with, this trend is about the 30 years before, because in 2020 we’ll see style elements of every decade:
the wild, colorful 60s and 70s prints that remind us of grandma’s wallpaper,
the 70s disco vibes with extra wide, colorful lapels on coats, jackets, and blazers or pointy oversized collars on blouses and shirts
and head to toe denim straight from the 80s.
Besides the classic jeans, I’m sure you have one or two denim pieces in your wardrobe to easily re-style this trend!

Suits, suits, suits: Tailoring
2020 is the year of tailoring! Whether we’re looking at blazers, structured slacks, classic three-piece suits with vests, or the new short suits with Bermuda shorts, we are literally all in the business of fashion this year. Especially in spring, we’re seeing tailoring in pastel or neutral tones. A minty pistachio green has particularly appealed to the fashion designers this season. If you like it more vivid, choose the trend color Hot Pink, a vibrant fuchsia.
This trend does not stop at suits: While white shirts and blouses are real classics in fashion, at the moment these pieces are even bigger than they are anyway, because they become part of layering looks with turtleneck sweaters. It’s easy to jump on the bandwagon as all of us have a roll neck and white blouse in our closets, right?
For me, the tailoring trend includes polo shirts, ongoing utility vibes, and trench coats, which on the catwalks were shown partly in a deconstructed fashion, partly worn as a dress.

Let’s go all in
This motto is meant to summarize all the trends that are somewhat over the top. Especially when it comes to dresses, the designers are really going crazy in 2020: voluminous skirts, puffy sleeves, lace, ruffles, appliques and so on – it’s impossible to be too OTT this season. Long tiered skirts as seen on several runways offer as much volume as possible. Feathers create interesting textures in the looks of 2020.
And if you have just had the thought crossing your mind: wait, we have been wearing ruffles and frills already last year, right? Exactly! Fortunately, this trend continues and thus, you can make good use of all the frilled pieces in your wardrobe.
On the other hand, we have seen tight-fitting and floor-length crochet dresses, some of which will also come to the stores as tank tops featuring a net look.

Barely there: 90s “Make Under”
The 90s have been a huge topic in fashion for some time now and I love to watch all the iconic films such as “Cruel Intentions”, “10 Things I Hate About You” or “Clueless” to find outfit inspiration. Many of the 90s pieces that now come back into fashion showcase the figure or reveal more skin:

The greatest inspiration for this trend is, of course, Bottega Veneta, who have become the mother of all 90s inspired styles which are trendy right now. It won't be long before the iconic designs are picked up by the high street – if you have some Bottega pieces on your wish list, you'll surely find fashionable dupes at Topshop and similar stores. Personally, I plan to do just that because to be honest I'm not sure how long the Bottega hype will last.
In addition to the more body-hugging style, in 2020 we’re seeing the “Barely There” trend which is all about the typical understatement that was popular 30 years ago. Not only will we be seeing restrained clothing pieces, but also natural makeup, hair, and nails. Key is the famous “no makeup makeup look” and well-groomed, but not overdone hair and nails. I love that you don't need much for this trend and it's really easy to join in with. When it comes to fashion, the 90s revival brings us neutral, monochrome colors, delicate straps on tops and shoes, and rather plain styles without too many design details.

Colors & Prints
Just like shoes and accessories, patterns and colors are an easy and inexpensive way to inject trends into your looks every season without having to invest in new pieces. 2020 we’ll be seeing color and print trends that we definitely already have in our wardrobes: All-white and black-and-white outfits for example have been shown on the catwalk by Valentino and are easy to style and suitable for every season. The classic polka dots are an easy to style fashion all-rounder and maybe already part of your wardrobe as well.
Neon is back, too, so if you still have a fluorescent fashion piece from the latest neon trend wave now is the time to get it out. Last but not least, a trend guide for 2020 is only complete if it mentions J.Lo's already legendary appearance on the Versace catwalk: in a green dress with tropical print and a sophisticated cut, her presence on the catwalk was spectacular. Hence, everything with palm trees, birds of paradise and exotic plants on it is pretty hip this year!

Shoes & Accessories
Who still remembers the Sex and the City episode in which Samantha buys the fake Fendi baguette bag? This bag style is now experiencing a tremendous revival! Baguette bags, golden hoops, white sneakers, chain necklaces and delicate sandals – the accessories trends 2020 totally remind us of the nineties and early 2000s. As it hasn’t been long since we’ve seen these styles some years back, you may already have the jewelry or a pair of plain white sneakers at home to wear with your 2020 outfits!
Bottega Veneta once again make the biggest contribution to the 90s comeback. Their soft, shapeless bags and square toed shoes are super on trend right now. I mentioned above that the high street has already joined in on the hype and you’ll be able to find stylish designer alternatives, particularly in the accessories area!

Moreover, we have to not down bucket bags and quilted on our accessories must-have list for 2020!
