Die Spatzen pfeifen es von den Dächern, es ist in aller Influencer Munde, selbsternannte Modeexperten auf Tiktok wussten es bereits: Skinny Jeans sind out! Mit dem Niedergang der ultra-engen Denim sehen wir einen Aufschwung für weite Hosen ganz generell, Schlaghosen im Speziellen, aber auch Baggy Jeans und lockere Anzughosen. Auch in der Herbst-/Wintermode 2021/22 sind die weiten Beinkleider alleine, aber auch im Anzug-Trend ein Star. Die Mode schenkt uns damit neue Bequemlichkeit und zusätzlich viele frische Styling-Ideen. Mit lässigem Schwung, umspielend und weich fallend strahlt die weite Hose Eleganz ebenso wie Sportlichkeit aus. Wie du sie am besten in einen klassisch-femininen Style einbaust, zeige ich dir hier.
Der Name der Hose
Der weite Schnitt hat viele Bezeichnungen: Marlenehose, Palazzohose, Baggy Pants oder als wadenlange Version Culottes. Während Baggy-Hosen einfach nur locker geschnitten sind, liegen Marlene- und Palazzo-Beinkleider am Po an, bevor sie locker und gerade nach unten fallen – sie sind die elegante Wahl. Klassisch wird die weite Hose auch durch Details wie Gürtelschlaufen, Paspeltaschen und Bügelfalte; außerdem solltest du auf einen Gummizug im Bund verzichten, damit kein Jogginghosen-Flair aufkommt. Gleichzeitig finde ich, im formellen Marleneschnitt kommen auch Jeans sehr gut zur Geltung, zwar mit weniger Schwung, dafür als gezielter Stilbruch und leichtem Retro-Moment. Womit wir beim Material wären: Wolle hält im Hinblick auf den Herbst schön warm, Polyester verzeiht Falten eher – unerlässlich für den schicken Hosen-Style. Am besten fährst du mit einem Mischgewebe.
Reine Formsache
Gute Nachrichten: Weite Hosen im edlen Marlene-Schnitt stehen Frauen mit allen Bodytypes! Die weite, knöchel- oder bodenlange Hose zaubert kilometerlange Beine, verstärkt wird dieser Effekt durch eine hohe Taille. Kräftige Beine werden kaschiert, und so schmeichelt eine Marlenehose etwa den Birnen-Figurtypen. Auch klein gewachsene Fashionistas sehen darin gut aus, gleichzeitig sind für sie hohe Schuhe empfehlenswert, um nicht gestaucht zu wirken.
Wie immer für Kleidungsstücke mit viel Stoff gilt: Fokus auf die Taille lenken, um eine Sanduhrsilhouette zu kreieren. Ein Statement-Gürtel etwa betont deine schmalste Stelle und bildet einen zusätzlichen Hingucker, wenn der Rest des Outfits schlicht gehalten ist. Noch einfacher: Das Oberteil in die Hose stecken und fertig ist der strukturierte Lässig-Look. Jetzt im Frühherbst kannst du deine Taille auch mit Crop Tops zur weiten Hosen unterstreichen, die ein schmales Stück Haut zeigen.
Blazer oder kein Blazer?
Die logische Kombi-Konsequenz für weite Hosen lautet: Blazer! Anzüge reiten immer noch auf einer haushohen Trendwelle, auf der du ganz einfach mit klassischen Teilen, die du bereits im Schrank hast, mitsurfen kannst. Damit geht die Eleganz durch die Decke! Um das Blazer-Hose-Paar aus der Büro-Ecke zu holen, kombiniere ich dazu gerne feminine oder legere Tops. Das können bei wärmeren Temperaturen Bralettes oder Stricktops sein, Feinstrickpullover mit Herzausschnitt oder auf der lässigen Seite Oversize T-Shirts, gerne mit Muster oder Druck, oder weit geschnittene Pullunder ohne Bluse. Wichtig bei voluminösen Oberteilen: unbedingt mit einem Gürtel bändigen, sonst wird es ein Schlabber-Look. Ein persönliches Lieblings-Outfit: Blazer direkt geschlossen als Top stylen und Dior-mäßig einen Taillengürtel darüber tragen. Meisterhaft!
Sweater Weather
Als Alternative zum schicken Blazer liebe ich Pullover in Kombi mit dem weiten Beinkleid. Elegant wirken solche mit Struktur, also körpernahem Schnitt. Besonders angesagt sind diesen Herbst Pullis mit Ansage, das heißt Design-Details wie auffallenden Krägen, betonten Schultern, besonderen Ärmeln oder spannender Textur wie etwa Zopfstrick. Das Norweger-Muster feiert mit dem Après Ski-Trend ebenfalls ein Comeback. Mit diesem Statement-Strick verträgt sich eine schlichte weite Hose hervorragend!
Du bist mehr der Layering-Fan? Trage eine Bluse mit Pullunder oder lass den Hemdkragen unter dem Strickpullover hervorblitzen, um den perfekten Preppy Look zu erzielen.
Der letzte Schuh-Schliff
Die neue Hosenform zaubert zwar kilometerlange Beine, doch irgendwann kommen wir bei den Füßen an. Wie also diese schmücken? Hier lautet die Devise: Go high or go for sneakers! Kombinierst du Pumps oder Ankle Boots mit Absatz zum weiten Beinkleid, gestalten sie deinen Look wunderbar edel und strecken nochmals, besonders wenn die Hose bodenlang ist. Gleichzeitig wirken geschlossene Schuhe sehr angezogen. Jetzt im Frühherbst trage ich sehr gerne noch offene Sandaletten oder Mules als Kontrast zur voluminösen Hose. Du möchtest es bequemer und lässiger? Mit hochwertigen, unifarbenen Sneakern verleihst du deiner Marlenehose mehr sportliche Eleganz.
No-Gos beim Schuhwerk sind flache Stiefeletten, Ballerinas oder Loafers – sie lassen die chice Hose plump und klobig wirken und gehen mir persönlich zu sehr in Richtung Y2K-Style.

Autumn fashion: 5 style tips for wide leg trousers

It’s the talk of the fashion town while self-proclaimed fashion experts on Tiktok have already known it: skinny jeans are out! With the popularity of ultra-tight denim descending, we're seeing an upswing for wide-leg trousers in general, flared jeans in particular, but also baggy jeans and loose-fitting tailored trousers. Wide leg trousers are also strong contenders when it comes to autumn/winter 2021/22 fashion trends, whether on their own or as part of the tailoring trend. Not only are they more comfortable than their skinny sibling, but provide us with a lot of fresh styling ideas. With flowing fabric in all the right places and a soft drape, wide leg trousers radiate elegance as well as nonchalance. Here’s how you can incorporate them into a classic feminine style.
Find the perfect wide-leg pants
You might want to look for trousers that aren’t baggy but rather feature an elegant cut, fitting around your hips with a high rise and straight legs. Make sure to go for classic details like belt loops, piped pockets, and a crease; you'll also want to steer clear of an elastic waistband to avoid jogger vibes. I think this structured and quite formal cut can even make jeans look elegant by giving them a slight retro moment. Speaking of fabrics: wool will keep you nice and warm for autumn, while polyester doesn’t crease as much – which is essential for a chic trouser style. A good choice is a blend of both fabrics.
A mere form-ality
Good news: Wide-leg pants with a classic cut suit women with all body types! Wide pants that come down to your ankle or even the floor will give you a height boost and legs for days, and this effect is enhanced by a high rise. So the trendy trousers are perfect to conceal sturdy legs, thus an especially flattering fit for pear-shaped figures. Petite fashionistas look good in them as well, however, they might want to consider wearing heels to visually stretch your legs.
As always when wearing garments with a lot of fabric you should draw the attention to your waist to create an hourglass silhouette. A statement belt for example will accentuate your narrowest part and create an additional eye-catcher when the rest of your outfit is kept simple. Even easier: tuck the top into your trousers for a structured casual look. Now in early fall you can also accentuate your waist by wearing crop tops that will show the tiniest bit of your midriff with your wide-leg pants.
To blazer or not to blazer?
The logical thing to pair with wide leg pants? Blazers! Suits are still huge on the trend radar and you can easily adapt this trend with classic pieces you already have in your closet. Whereas a blazer and trousers combo is truly elegant, it also might look like you’re heading to the office, so I like to take things down a notch by pairing it with feminine or even casual tops. For now when the temperatures are still mild, you can go for bralettes or knitted vest tops, fine knit sweaters with a heart neckline or if you prefer a casual vibe, oversized t-shirts, maybe with a pattern or print, or loose-fitting sweater vests without a blouse underneath. If you opt for volume on both the top and bottom, tame the fabric with a belt to avoid a baggy look. A favorite outfit of mine: wear your blazer closed and add a statement waist belt for some Dior vibes – Chef’s kiss!
Sweater Weather
As an alternative to the chic blazer, I love wide leg trousers in combination with jumpers. To balance out your look, choose a structured knit with a tight fitting bodice. According to the runways, this fall we will see statement knits that feature some kind of design details such as unusual collars, accentuated shoulders, special sleeves or exciting textures such as cable knit. The Norwegian pattern is also making a comeback with the après ski trend. All in all, you can’t go wrong with fashionable knitwear in combination with your pair of plain wide-leg pants.
If you're more of a layering fan, wear a blouse underneath a sweater vest or let your shirt collar peek out from underneath your jumper for the perfect preppy look.
Head over heels
The new style of trousers may elongate your legs, but eventually we'll get to the feet. So which footwear to choose? The motto for wide leg trousers is: go high or go for sneakers! Pumps or heeled ankle boots will create a wonderfully elegant look and give you a height boost. At the same time, closed shoes might look a bit formal. That’s why I love to wear open-toe sandals or mules as a contrast to the voluminous pants as long as it’s not too cold. Preferring a more comfortable or casual outfit? High-quality, plain-colored sneakers are perfect to achieve that sporty elegance.
You might want to avoid flat ankle boots, ballerinas or loafers with your wide-leg trousers as they will not look elegant, but rather clunky and the combination – at least for me personally – is too much of a Y2K style.
