Luxus-Ledertaschen mühelos pflegen
Was haben alle eleganten Stilikonen gemeinsam? Richtig, ihre Kleidung ist immer makellos gepflegt! Kein Stäubchen oder Fusseln auf dem Mantel, keine ausgewaschenen Shirts, glatt gebügelte Kleider und Röcke. Ein perfektes Outfit machen nicht nur geschmackvoll zusammengestellte Einzelstücke aus, sondern auch ihr Zustand. Kleidung zu pflegen hat sogar einen doppelten Vorteil: Sie kommt am besten zur Geltung und wird dir lange erhalten bleiben. Das gilt für den korrekten Waschgang für feine Stücke aus Seide oder Wolle, die säuberliche Aufbewahrung im Kleiderschrank, und natürlich auch für Accessoires! Hand aufs Herz, wann hast du das letzte Mal deine Lieblingstasche gereinigt? Ich vergesse zwischen Wäsche waschen und Schuhe putzen gerne mal, dass auch Taschen und andere Style-Begleiter wie Gürtel von Zeit zu Zeit ein Spa-Erlebnis verdient haben. Aber ist das nicht super aufwändig? Und vor allem: Wie reinige ich meine hochwertigen – vielleicht sogar Designer- – Ledertaschen am besten, ohne etwas falsch zu machen?

Lederpflege – ohne Gedöns
Der schwarze Umkarton ist erst mal schlicht – “Lederpflege” steht drauf, mehr nicht. Drin befindet sich ein Schwämmchen und die Dose mit dem Produkt. Cremig sieht es aus, fast wie eine Hautpflege, und riecht mindestens so angenehm. Ich suche die Anleitung, denn ich will nichts falsch machen. Muss ich die Ledersachen vielleicht erst mit einem feuchten Tuch abwischen, bevor ich mit der Pflege drangehe? Aber ich habe mir zu viele Gedanken gemacht. Mit der Hagerty Lederpflege* kann ich einfach loslegen. Wichtig ist nur: Sie ist für Glattleder gedacht, nicht für Wildleder!
Reinigst du noch oder pflegst du schon?
Okay, ich möchte ausprobieren, was das Produkt kann! Da ich vor allem helle Ledertaschen trage, auf die sich doch schneller ein Fleck verirrt als auf dunkle, ist mir wichtig, dass ich sie rasch und unkompliziert reinigen kann. Also, Schwämmchen in die Pflege getaucht und los! Der Vorteil gegenüber einem Tuch ist, dass ich nicht dauernd neues Produkt aufnehmen muss. Viel braucht es auch gar nicht nicht, denn die Pflege ist sehr ergiebig. Die Ledercreme verteile ich mit kreisenden Bewegungen, sie zieht einfach und fix ein, hinterlässt meine Taschen sogar leicht schimmernd. Ich finde, das sieht fast aus wie eine Art Glow – ganz wie mein Lieblingsserum auf meiner Haut! Scheinbar ganz nebenbei entfernt die Hagerty Lederpflege Schmutz. Dazu bearbeite ich die Flecken mit einem Extraklecks des Produkts, bis sie verschwinden. Danach das Schwämmchen auswaschen und du hast in nur 5 Minuten deine liebste Ledertasche zu neuem Glanz verholfen.
Vorher-nachher-Vergleich (links/rechts): Das Bild rechts ist heller, aber darauf klar erkennbar: das gereinigte Leder auf der Rückseite der Tasche, das gleichmäßiger und glatter aussieht.
Der “Glow” für Lederaccessoires
Natürlich funktioniert die Lederpflege nicht nur für Taschen, sondern auch für Lederschuhe, Ledergürtel, SLGs (“small leather goods” wie Portemonnaies, Kartenhalter und ähnliche) und Lederjacken. Sie kräftigt das Material, es wird weniger schnell brüchig und dein Lieblingsstück bleibt dir noch lange erhalten. Und sie ist so wunderbar praktisch! Selbst wenn ich es eilig habe, kann ich noch schnell meine Handtasche auffrischen, bevor ich aus der Tür stürme. Ich werde mir für meine nächste Reise, die hoffentlich bald wieder möglich ist, einen kleinen Tiegel zum Mitnehmen abfüllen und kann damit gleich gegensteuern, sollten mal Flecken entstehen. Ich hoffe Hagerty entwickelt demnächst ein ähnliches Produkt für Wildleder, damit ich auch meine Nubuk-Pieces perfekt in Schuss halten kann.

What do all style icons have in common? Right, their clothes are always pristine! Neither dust nor lint on their coat, no washed-out shirts, smoothly ironed dresses and skirts. A perfect outfit does not only consist of tastefully combined pieces, but their condition also matters. Maintaining your clothes even comes with a double advantage: they will always look its best and they will last you for a long time, whether it’s choosing the correct washing cycle for fine pieces made of silk or wool, neatly storing them in your wardrobe, or caring for your accessories! Let’s be honest, when was the last time you cleaned your favorite bag? Between washing my clothes and cleaning my shoes, I tend to forget that bags and other accessories such as belts deserve a spa experience as well from time to time. But isn't that super time-consuming? And above all: How do I best clean my high-quality – and maybe even designer – leather goods without messing it up?

Just leather care – without the fuss
At first glance, the black box the product comes in doesn’t look like much, the design is simple and narrowed down to what’s important. It says “leather care”, nothing more. Inside you’ll find a little sponge and the jar with the product. It looks creamy, almost like skin care, and smells at least as pleasant. I'm looking for the instructions because I don't want to do anything wrong. Do I have to wipe my leather items down with a damp cloth before I start applying the care? But I soon realize that I have been overthinking: you can just get started with the Hagerty leather care*! The only important thing to remember is that the product is intended for smooth leather, not for suede!

Are you still cleaning or already caring?
Okay, now I want to try out what the product can do! Since I mainly carry light-colored leather bags that might get stained more easily than dark ones, it is important to me that I can clean them quickly and effortlessly. Let’s do this – just dip the sponge into the leather cream and get started! I prefer using the sponge rather than a cloth as it makes it easier to spread the product. Also, a little goes a long way! Use circular movements to spread the leather cream evenly across the leather surface. It’s absorbed super fast and even leaves my leather bags with a slight shimmer which I’d describe as a kind of glow – just like the effect my favorite hydrating serum has on my skin! Beside nourishing the material, the Hagerty leather care removes dirt stains without difficulty. If there are any spots on my bag, I’ll just dab some product onto them and wipe until they disappear. After giving your favorite leather bag a new shine in just 5 minutes you just wash out the sponge and are ready to go again, .
The glow for leather accessories
Of course the Hagerty leather care does not only work on bags, but also on leather shoes, leather belts, small leather goods or SLGs such as wallets, card holders and the like, and leather jackets. It nourishes and strengthens the material, preventing it from becoming brittle and making sure you can make good use of your favorite piece for a long time. Plus it's so wonderfully practical! Even if I'm in a hurry, I can quickly freshen up my hand bag before storming out the door. For my next trip, which hopefully will be possible again soon, I'm going to fill a small take-away jar with the product and take it with me in case any stains occur on my leather accessoires. I hope Hagerty will develop a similar product for suede soon so that I can keep my nubuck pieces in perfect condition as well!
