So stylist du ein cremefarbenes Outfit von Kopf bis Fuß

Die Crème de la Crème! Neutrals heißt der Hypertrend der letzten Jahre, wenn es um Farben in der Mode geht. Ich bin ihm bekanntermaßen zum Opfer gefallen, liebe es, Beige, Braun, Cognac und Weiß miteinander zu kombinieren. Mit Abstand mein liebster neutraler Farbton ist aber Creme! Der klingt schon gut, nach einer süßen Leckerei oder reichhaltiger Pflege. Und damit liege ich gar nicht mal so falsch – die englische Wikipedia definiert den Farbton “cream” als die Farbe frischer Sahne, irgendwo zwischen Milch und Butter.
Das Schöne an Neutrals ist ja, dass sie sich mühelos miteinander kombinieren lassen. Wenn ich aber nur eine Nuance von Kopf bis Fuß tragen möchte, ist es dann genauso einfach? Lass es uns herausfinden mit meinen Style-Tipps für einen all-cream Look:
1. Achte auf die Temperatur!
Das heißt, die Farbtemperatur. Creme ist ein warmer Weißton, hat gelbliche Untertöne und beißt sich daher mit dem kühlen Reinweiß. Ich will nicht sagen, dass du sie gar nicht zusammen tragen kannst, aber dein Outfit wirkt harmonischer, wenn die Farben denselben Unterton aufweisen. Probier es ruhig selbst aus, indem du ein weißes und ein cremefarbenes Teile nebeneinander hältst, dann ein cremefarbenes und eines in einem warmen Farbton wie Hellbeige oder Ecru – letzteres sieht zusammen kohärenter und schlicht besser aus.

2. Die goldene Regel
Auf die Gefahr hin, dass ich wie eine kaputte Schallplatte klinge: Verschiedene Materialien und Oberflächen lassen ein Outfit interessanter aussehen, da das Auge mehr ansprechende Punkte findet, an denen es verweilt. Das ist essenziell für monochrome Looks! Außerdem ist dieser Style-Trick so easy, dass er sich selbst für die schlichtesten Kombinationen umsetzen lässt. Von glatt bis rau, von hart bis weich, von flauschig bis glänzend, auf Kontraste kommt es an. Beispiel: trägst du eine glatte Baumwollbluse, passt dazu ein texturierter Bouclé-Rock; Jeansstoff verträgt sich gut mit einem Strickmuster, Spitze oder glänzendem Satin. Mit deinen Accessoires kannst du etwa mit Leder, Wildleder oder Lack noch mehr Abwechslung in den Look bringen oder auch Materialien deiner Kleidungsstücke aufgreifen.

3. Ein bisschen Gold und Silber
Als kleine Hingucker und edle Details in deinem Outfit eignen sich metallic-farbene Akzente. Das können Knöpfe sein, Ketten an Taschen, Schnallen am Gürtel, auffällige Reißverschlüsse oder Bügel an Sonnenbrillen. Die Metallictöne sind quasi auch eine neutrale Farbe und harmonieren daher besonders gut mit deinem All-cream-Look. Es ist egal, ob du dich für silberfarbene, goldfarbene oder rosé goldene Details entscheidest oder auf dem einfarbigen cremefarbenen „Hintergrund“ die Metalltöne mixt.

4. Gut gelayered ist halb gewonnen
Eine große, monochrome Fläche ist langweilig. Daher zielen alle diese Modetipps darauf ab, mehr Dimension in einen komplett cremefarbenen Look zu bringen und neben Texturen sind verschiedene Schichten deine Style-Helden. Ein einfacher und gleichzeitig wahnsinnig effektiver Hack! Trage über dem Outfit-Kern etwa einen Blazer, einen Mantel oder eine Strickjacke oder layere eine Bluse oder ein Spitzentop darunter. Achte dabei auf unterschiedliche Längen, sodass die Schichten gut sichtbar sind! Kleinere Details an deiner Kleidung, die aufgesetzt sind, so zum Beispiel Kragen, Schluppen, Rüschen oder Taschen können auch einen Layering-Effekt entfalten.
5. Ein kleiner Störenfried!
Füge deinem Look ein Statement Piece hinzu, das die einfarbige Fläche aufbricht. Das kann ein Teil mit Muster, Stickereien oder mit Akzenten in einer anderen, eventuell auch neutralen Farbe sein – die Grundfarbe sollte aber creme sein. Ich habe mich hier für Pumps mit schwarzer Spitze und einen Mantel mit kleinteiligem Muster in creme und beige entschieden. So schaffst du einen Kontrast, der aber auch nicht zu groß ist, dass er das monochrome Gesamtbild zerstört.

6. Sauber bleiben
Helle Farben sind wunderschön, gleichzeitig sehr anfällig für Flecken und Schmutz. Du kennst das bestimmt: Wenn du ein helles Outfit trägst, gibt es in der Kantine Spaghetti Bolognese. Deshalb kommen hier noch meine Tipps, um Flecken vorzubeugen und sie zu beheben. Vorsicht ist auf jeden Fall die richtige Wahl. Serviette auf den Schoß, kritisch hingucken, falls du dich auf Parkbänke setzt, versuchen, beim Aussteigen aus dem Auto nicht an die Schwelle zu kommen und so weiter. Bei Regen würde ich, zumindest an den Beinen, keine hellen Kleidungsstücke empfehlen, denn ein paar Tropfen bekommst du immer ab. Und zu guter Letzt ist ein Fleckentferner-Stift in der Handtasche sehr praktisch. Es gibt sie für ein paar Euro in der Drogerie. Damit kannst du Soforthilfe leisten, denn es gilt: Flecken immer sofort auswaschen, damit sie sich nicht festsetzen! Wenn du keinen Fleckentferner zur Hand hast, lässt sich der meiste Schmutz mit Wasser und Seife zumindest grob entfernen.

How to confidently wear an all cream monochrome outfit

La crème de la crème! The hyper trend when it comes to colours in fashion for the last few years has been neutrals. As you can tell, I fell victim to it as I love pairing shades like beige, brown, tan, and white in my outfits. By far my favourite neutral colour, however, is cream! I mean, that already sounds lovely, like a sweet treat or nourishing skincare. And it’s pretty obvious where the shade got its name: it’s the colour of fresh cream, somewhere between milk and butter.
What I love most about neutrals is how effortlessly they can be combined. But is it as easy to achieve a stylish look if I choose to wear one colour from head to toe? Let’s find out with my six fashion tips for an all-cream look:
1. It’s all about the temperature
The colour temperature, that is. Cream is a warm white tone with yellow undertones and therefore will clash with the more cool toned pure white. I am not saying that you cannot pair them at all, but your outfit will look more cohesive if the colours feature the same undertone. Just try it for yourself by holding a white and cream piece beside each other, then a cream piece with a warm-coloured shade like light beige or off-white – you will see that the latter will be more visually pleasing.

2. The golden rule
At the risk of sounding like a stuck record: different materials and textures will make your look more interesting, because the eye finds more points of interest to stick to. And that’s essential for monochrome outfits! Moreover, this style hack is so easy it can be applied to even the simplest of outfit combinations. From smooth to rough, from light to heavy, from hard to soft, it’s all about contrast. For example, you could pair a textured Bouclé skirt with a plain cotton blouse or a pair of denim trousers with a chunky knit, lace, or shiny satin. Use your accessories to add more variety, maybe with leather, suede, or patent, or pick up the materials of your garments.

3. The glitter end
Elevate your outfit with metallic details which serve as little eye-catchers and classy details. That could be buttons, chains on bags, belt buckles, prominent zippers, or a sunglasses frame. I tend to regard metallics as another neutral shade, so they will not interfere with your chosen colour palette. It doesn’t matter if you choose silver, gold, or rose gold details or even mix the different metal colours against the monochrome “backdrop”.

4. Well layered is half done
A big plain surface is rather boring, that’s why all these fashion tips aim to add dimension to an all-cream outfit. Besides playing around with materials, the technique of layering is a true style hero, as it’s simple but super effective. Maybe wear a blazer, a coat, or a cardigan over the core of your outfit or layer a blouse or a lace top underneath. Make sure to pick various lengths in order for the different tiers to be visible! If you do not want to add an extra piece, you can achieve a little layering effect with details on your garments that sort of stick out, such as collars, pussy bows, ruching, or patch pockets.
5. A little mischief
To break up the monochromatic look once more, add a hero piece featuring a pattern, embroidery, or other elements in a different (neutral) shade, but still with cream as their base colour. Here I opted for slingback two-toned pumps with a black toe part and a coat with a small pattern in cream and beige. This tip allows you to create a small contrast, but nothing too major which would disturb the monochrome overall picture.

6. Out, damned spot
Light colours are beautiful, yet prone to stains and spots. I’m sure this has happened to you: once you are wearing a light coloured outfit, the cafeteria offers pasta with tomato sauce. As I am a little clumsy and all of this has happened to me before, I am sharing some basic tips to prevent and to remove stains. In any case, being careful is the name of the game. Make use of the napkin while eating, take a close look at park benches before sitting down, try not to touch the door sill when getting out of the car, and so on. I would not recommend wearing any light coloured bottoms in the rain, because the water from the puddles always splashes a little. And last but not least, have a stain removing pen at hand for some on-the-spot-aid (pun intended). You can get one at the chemist for a few pounds. If you do not carry one with you, don’t worry! Most spots can be easily removed with water and soap. Just make sure you do it immediately after the staining occurred so it won’t stick to the fabric.
