Könnt ihr euch an das letzte Mal weiße Weihnachten erinnern? Metereologisch gesehen fiel in Deutschland zuletzt vor acht Jahren Schnee an Heiligabend. Ein bisschen schwingt der Zauber von Weihnachten ja schon mit, wenn in der frühen Abenddämmerung leise die Flocken vom Himmel schweben, während ich im Halbdunkel am Fenster stehe, die Lichterketten der Nachbarn blinken sehe und darauf warte, dass die Glocke klingelt. Ja, bei meinen Eltern ist es Weihnachtstradition, ein Glöckchen zu läuten, sobald alle Geschenke unter dem Baum liegen. Dann ist es draußen fast dunkel, drinnen steht der leuchtende Weihnachtsbaum und meine Familie sitzt zusammen – das ist für mich wirklich Weihnachten.
Und dann ist eigentlich egal, wie das Wetter ist. In den letzten Jahren habe ich mich schon fast an das Schmuddelwetter an Heiligabend gewöhnt. Aber wenn es schon keine weißen Weihnachten gibt, dann mache ich sie ein bisschen selbst – outfittechnisch. Mein Weihnachtslook ist eigentlich nie besonders schick, denn Pumps sind im Matsch draußen unpraktisch und auf dem Parkettboden meiner Eltern nicht gerne gesehen, und ein schickes Kleidchen stört spätestens beim gemütlichen Wein trinken auf der Couch. Das Wichtigste ist allerdings: das Weihnachtsoutfit muss definitiv bequem sein, um Platz für die weihnachtlichen Schlemmereien zu bieten. Deshalb trage ich an Heiligabend meistens Jeans und Pulli, die durch die All-White-Kombi trotzdem festlich sind und eben ein bisschen “Weiße Weihnachten” zaubern.

Do you remember the last time we had a white Christmas? In Germany, that was in 2010! I have to admit that I love that kind of Christmas spirit that arises when the snowflakes silently fall down at dusk while I’m standing at the window in the twilight, watching the neighbors’ Christmas lights blinking and waiting for the bell to ring, Yes, my parents do have the tradition of ringing a little bell when all presents are lying under the tree. By the time, it will be dark outside, the Christmas tree is all lit up, and my family is gathered around it – and then for me, it’s truly Christmas.
And then, it actually doesn’t matter if it rains or snows outside. During the last years, I’ve been getting used to the nasty weather on Christmas Eve. But if we can’t count on a white Christmas, I’ll make it for myself – at least when it comes to my outfit. My Christmas Eve look is never really chic, because heels are not a good choice with the mud outside and frowned upon on my parents’ parquet floor, and an elegant dress will be bothering me by the time we will snuggle up on the couch and enjoy some glasses of wine at the latest. But the most important thing for me when it comes to my Christmas outfit is in all honesty that it is comfortable and has enough room for all the food and treats. That’s why I mostly wear jeans and a sweater on Christmas Eve, and this year, I tried to add a festive touch by wearing the all-white combo and make it a little white Christmas.
