So kleidest du dich wie Blair Waldorf und Emily in Paris: Modetipps für die angesagte Instagram-Ästhetik 'Stil Parisienne'

Paris – die Stadt der Liebe und die Stadt der Mode. Für manche das Gleiche. Nicht abzustreiten ist, dass die französische Hauptstadt die meisten Haute Couture-Häuser beherbergt und zum Inbegriff eines elegant-klassischen Stils geworden ist. Modeikonen wie Coco Chanel, Brigitte Bardot, Sonia Rykiel oder Jeanne Damas stehen für starke, feminine Outfits.
Ich würde den exemplarischen Stil Parisienne etwas mädchenhafter beschreiben, mit einer gehörigen Portion Vintage-Einfluss, geprägt von müheloser Eleganz und unverkennbar klassisch. Auf Social Media findet sich unter dem Hashtag #parisianchic diese Art von Outfits. In der Popkultur hat sich die Stilrichtung mit von Emily in Paris und Gossip Girl inspirierten Looks vermischt und ist zu einer eigenen Ästhetik geworden.
Ist das jetzt der authentische Pariser Stil? Wahrscheinlich nicht – ich glaube, die Französinnen sind androgyner und cooler unterwegs. Aber lassen wir uns davon nicht stören; erlaubt ist, was gefällt! Hier kommen die besten Tipps für den Style à la francaise nach Insta-Art:
Baskenmütze. Einleuchtend. Die traditionelle Kopfbedeckung aus den Pyrenäen hat sich in den Inbegriff des Pariser Chics verwandelt. Als elegante Alternative zur Strickmütze setzt ein Barett deinem Look die Krone auf. Ich liebe die klassischen Modelle aus Wolle – damit machst du nichts falsch.

Absätze. Ob Stiefel, Ankle Boots oder Pumps, zumindest ein niedriger Heel ist Pflicht. Im Gegensatz zu flachen Schuhen verleihen sie dir eine andere, aufgerichtete und selbstbewusste Haltung. Außerdem bringst du damit eine Note Weiblichkeit in dein Outfit.

Strumpfhose. Jetzt für den Winter, wenn es zu kalt für nackte Beine ist, wertest du deinen Look Parisienne in bester Blair-Waldorf-Manier mit hellen oder gemusterten Strumpfhosen auf. Als ich meine dunklen durch cremeweiße Strumpfhosen ersetzt habe, war ich erstaunt, wie chic sie mit kurzen Röcken in neutralen Tönen oder sogar Shorts wirken. Florale und Zopfmuster, Monogramme und Tattoo-Effekt gehören zu den aktuellen Trends – bitte nichts geometrisches oder zweifarbiges!

Bouclé und Tweed. Hochwertige gewebte Stoffe, ob als Rock, Blazer oder Kleid, passen hervorragend zum Pariser Look. Damit unterstreicht du auch den klassischen und luxuriösen Charakter des Stils. Tweed existiert seit Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts und ist ein dicht gewebter Wollstoff, der ursprünglich beim Jagen oder Reiten vor dem englischen Wetter schützen sollte. Heute bringt er, wie der ähnliche Boucle-Stoff, einen Hauch ‘old money’ in die Mode – perfekt für den Paris-Style.

Perlen. Der absolute Klassiker – und Schmuck mit Perlen passt zu viel mehr als nur femininen Styles! Eine zeitlose Perlenkette ist der Hingucker am Dekolleté. Wer es moderner mag, greift zu Perlenarmbändern, -ringen oder -haarreifen!

Paris – the city of love and the city of fashion. Some would say that’s the same. What we can’t deny is that the French capital is home to the majority of haute couture houses and has become the epitome of an elegant and classic style. Fashion icons like Coco Chanel, Brigitte Bardot, Sonia Rykiel or Jeanne Damas represent bold but feminine looks.
The typical style Parisienne for me is a little more girly, featuring a good deal of vintage elements, effortlessly elegant, and unequivocally classic. Searching for #parisianchic on social media will show you this type of outfits, while in pop culture the style blended in with looks inspired by the shows Gossip Girl and Emily in Paris, generating its own distinct aesthetic.
Is this the authentic Parisian style, though? Probably not – I think French girls dress cooler and more androgynously. However, let’s overlook that and go for the outfits we love! Here are my top tips for looks à la francaise, Instagram edition:
A beret. Duh. The traditional Pyrenean headpiece has transformed into a symbol for the Paris style. Being an elegant alternative to a knitted hat, a beret will be the highlight of your look. I prefer the classic styles made of wool as they go with everything.

Heels. Whether you’re wearing boots, pumps or sandals, a heel is key to giving you that upright, confident posture. A low block heel is all you need, plus it adds a pinch of femininity to your outfit.

Tights. Right now, when it is too cold outside for bare legs, seize the chance to elevate your Parisian look and pay homage to Blair Waldorf by wearing light coloured or patterned tights. When I replaced dark with cream coloured tights, I was amazed by how effortlessly chic they look with short skirts in neutral shades or even shorts. Current trends include floral or cable patterns, monograms, and tattoo effect tights – don’t go for geometrical designs or anything two-toned.

Bouclé and tweed. High quality materials worn as a blazer, skirt, or dress, are a perfect match for the Parisian style, emphasising its classic and luxurious nature. Tweed, a closely woven woollen fabric, has been around since the beginning of the 19th century and was originally used for hunting and riding garments in order to shield the wearer from the British weather. Nowadays, it adds that ‘old money’ vibe to any outfit, just like the similar bouclé fabric – an ideal fit for the Parisian chic.

Pearls. The ultimate classic – and of course you can wear pearl jewellery with anything, not just feminine outfits! A timeless pearl necklace adds that touch of glamour, however, if you prefer a more modern approach to pearls, wear them as bracelets, rings, or headbands!

Feminine details. Playful elements like ruffles, bows, and lace will make all the difference in a Blair or Emily influenced look. Show your Parisian sense of style with lace or pearl collars, pussy bow blouses, twillys, or silk scarves worn around your neck or embellishing your handbag.

Shape. The Parisian aesthetic is characterised by structured rather than flowing garments. Make sure your look includes at least one item with a clear form – maybe a skirt, an elegant pair of trousers (yes, even jeans), a blazer, a shirt with statement shoulders or a tailored coat. Pair them with a piece featuring a more casual silhouette, for example by wearing a blazer over a swinging midi skirt or adding a loose-fitting blouse to a pencil skirt. If you are opting for a long dress, I recommend accessorising with a waist belt!
